What you get on Canada’s best 5G network.4
Our 5G and 5G+ enable theoretical peak download speed of up to 1.7 Giga bits per sec, referrer 7 5G available in select major areas of Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal and more. in cities, towns and communities across Canada for an incredible mobile experience (average expected speeds between 89–705 Mbps).
Up to 100x faster speeds
Future 5G/5G+ technology deployments will have theoretical peak download speeds that are up to 100x faster than 4G LTE. This means large files will be downloaded in seconds, videos will be streamed in the highest resolution, and you’ll benefit from an overall better experience.
5G/5G+ will also provide faster Internet speed to users in remote areas that currently don’t have access to fibre technology.
Up to 1,000x greater capacity
Future 5G/5G+ technology connected devices will be able to receive multiple streams of data, dramatically increasing their capacity to enjoy reliably fast speeds, even during peak times and at crowded events.
Up to 3x lower latency
Future 5G and 5G+ technology will allow devices to connect to one another with a lightning-fast response time. This opens up possibilities for real-time gaming, self-driving cars, and other immersive experiences that rely on real-time communication.
A reliable connection
Bell connects the vast majority of cell towers with fibre, the best network technology, to give customers a reliable connection. In addition, our in-building coverage improvements deliver a strong LTE signal. Backed by the latest network infrastructure technology, Bell also gives you access to a network offering the most cell towers connected by fibre.
Bell’s dedicated team of 7,600 network employees are continuously working to optimize our network, all with the shared goal of providing Canadians with the absolute best, most advanced mobile experience.
Connecting Canadians with the latest technology.
Bell’s ongoing investments in 5G Advanced technology ensure our networks are future-ready and aligned with evolving global standards. These strategic investments lay the foundation for next-generation wireless experiences. Customers will benefit from improved reliability, lower latency and faster speeds.
Frequently asked questions
The Bell 5G+ network builds on the strength of our existing 5G network by using higher-frequency spectrums (3500 and 3800 MHz), delivering speeds up to 65% faster.2 It also provides increased capacity and better performance in high-traffic areas like stadiums, malls and city centres. Plus, with up to 3x lower latency, it’s great for data-heavy activities like streaming in 4K, live gaming and video conferencing.
Bell, Canada’s fastest 5G network, can reach peak theoretical download speeds of up to 2 Gbps.8
Bell 5G+ coverage is growing across the country. It’s currently available in select areas of Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, Montréal and Halifax. You can check availability for your specific address using our network coverage map.
To access the 5G+ network, you need a 5G-compatible device and an eligible rate plan. Most newer phones (iPhone 12 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S21 and newer) are 5G+ compatible.
